The Best Halloween Costume! EVER!!
Lincoln is "Russell" from the Pixar movie UP for Halloween this year. This is by far THE BEST costume that Lincoln, or any of my other kids, has worn!
I got this fabulous idea from Calvin's Mom - check out her blog!
We went to a Halloween party yesterday, and although only a handful of the little kids recognized Lincoln as "Russell," all of the parents knew exactly who he was! And when Lincoln looked at himself in the mirror or saw photos, he would say, "That's Lincoln Russell!"
Here are some photos I used for inspiration:

This was a really inexpensive project, and most of the stuff I did myself. Lincoln had the brown shorts and boots (but it was way too hot yesterday to put him in boots, so he's wearing Teva). Our Nanny/Seamstress made the sash, shirt, and bandana. I printed out the merit badges and Wilderness Explorer logos from another blog: here, and glued them on to the sash, shirt, and hat. I even made the little beads that's clipped on to the sash. I just couldn't resist!
This backpack was made from scratch as well, by our Nanny. I searched and searched and searched, and couldn't find one that was small and lightweight enough to hold all of the camping gadgets. I made the pennant flag out of felt and also glued one of the WE logos on each side. The "sleeping bag" attached to the bottom of the backpack is Lincoln's favorite blankie.
If I could have found a Kevin-like bird or dog-like Doug, believe you me, I would have incorporated it in the costume as well! We opted against balloons during the party yesterday because it was so hot and I didn't want them to pop or melt. But when we go trick-or-treating, we will definitely get balloons for Lincoln-Russell!

House Hunting
My lease is up next month, and I've yet to find a new place. Moving sucks. Actually, it's not the moving part that's so bad. It's the packing and unpacking.
It's just hard to find a place that so central to where I am now. Right in between Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. Within walking distance to BART, shopping, Starbucks, a bar, and many others!

Things That Bug Me
- hypocrites
- procrastinators
- people who don't follow thru with things they say they're gonna do
- people who say, "sounds good, but let me check with my husband (or wife)"
- people who don't respond to email
- people who are upset with you, but don't tell you

Instagram - I'm Obsessed!
I'm totally enamored with Instagram! I love posting my photos, especially travel pics.
I didn't really understand Instagram in the beginning, but now that I've got the hang of it, it's really cool. It's a little like Twitter, in the sense that you follow people and gain followers.
By tagging photos with hashtags you can view photos with the same tags as yours. It's also a way to gain followers and fund photographers to follow. I'm amazed at how many people have hundreds, even thousands of followers. I've gained 54 followers from the 74 photos I've posted over the last month.
I also love getting feedback from other photographers. The photo below is one of my more popular pics with 22 likes. Interestingly enough, I snapped this photo with my iphone from the freeway while we were driving to our hotel in Palm Desert! It wasn't a particularly great photo until I cropped it with Photoshop Express and addded a filter to it on Instagram, ALL on my iPhone!

Kik
I just joined Kik today. I'm not really sure why, but I kept seeing Kik IDs on peoples Instagram profiles.
5 minutes after I set up my account, I got an IM from an ex in Sacramento. Weird right! He said he got a notification that I joined and he thought I IM'd him. Long story short, we got all caught up on the last 20 years!
However, finding friends user names is not so easy! Mine is, of course, luxylu.

I've had my iPhone for several months now, and one of my favorite photo apps is Instagram.
There are some awesome filters and editing functions on this app. But more importantly, the community is fascinating. You gain a following, and you can follow people, you wouldn't otherwise meet, based on photos.
Much like Twitter, you can interact with people by tagging your photo with a location or adding a #hashtag.
So far I've posted 55 photos and have 20 followers.
It's really interesting to see amazing photos people take with their phones, as well as their talent for editing!
